Field Trips
In The Classroom

SOAR is the independent educational enrichment program for Salisbury Central School students. Established in 2000, SOAR’s vision today remains true to that of its founder Zenas Block: to provide the dynamic learning opportunities that enable each and every student to discover his/her individual talents and interests. Working closely with SCS faculty, our goal is both to support and enhance the school-day curriculum and to provide the environment and opportunities, both in and out of the classroom, for learning and exploration beyond this. The hallmark of our programming is affordable and engaging after-school workshops taught by highly regarded and skilled members of our community. From the creative and performing arts, to language and technology, to science and nature, to health and safety.

Our aim is to provide enrichment opportunities to spark and challenge the thinking of all our participants

Currently SOAR offers a program of after-school classes three times a year. Generally these run for 6-7 weeks and are usually held on-site at Salisbury Central  School. Through our ties with the community however we have been able to expand our program beyond the school campus. For example, SOAR offers Food, Farming & Fun at Hotchkiss Farm and Fencing is held at the Congregational Church in Salisbury.
