SOAR is always looking to make new friends!
Fellow parents, members of our community or further afield supporters, we welcome you one and all.
With the exception of our director and class instructors, we are a band of very merry, but unpaid, volunteers. As a small and privately funded 501(c)(3), we are dependent on the generosity and goodwill of our friends and neighbors, not just with their money but also their time. Both of which, we so greatly appreciate.
We would love to hear from you if you have an idea for a class you’d like to teach, or a suggestion of someone else who might be a fit.
Any wonderful creative skills are welcomed with open arms – photographing classes in action or being our in-house paparazzi at a fund raising event, graphic designer for our promotional and marketing materials, being a social media whizz, writers of record-raising fund appeals….whatever your forte, we can make good use of you!
Or maybe you are quite simply our favorite kind of helper - a warm-bloodied being with a sense of humor (and an ability to suspend their disbelief about how much fun it could actually be to serve chili for four hours in 5-degree temperatures – outside – at night)! Ask any of our eight survivors – I mean servers – and we will all say we really did have so much fun! Many of our activities take place in tandem with local community events such as the Fall Festival and Jumpfest. SOAR loves to return the generosity of our community and this is often our best way of giving back by supporting their events. But we do need manpower to do this. So while Foot Soldier may not sound glamorous, and more often than
not, it certainly doesn't look glamorous, you are 100% guaranteed to have a good time!
